Um, Seattle. Lotsa culture, good food, good friends, and interesting people. Not to mention the mountains are only 45 minutes away. Roslyn, Twisp, and Winthrop (among many others) are awesome places, but I need, what to me, is more balance.

Seattle for me also, but if I were to have a cabin, maybe Icicle Creek.

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

Gotta agree. Closer to the North Cascades and a fast flee to Canada wink.gif

I agree about the need for balance. I work in Seattle and sleep over there a few nights/week. I have been offered a few jobs out here (Roslyn), and as much as I'd like to give up commuting... I can't give up culture, diversity, arts, Thai food, etc. At least not yet. It can be a pain at times.. always packing - unpacking - repacking, but right now it feels pretty great. Like I have the best of both worlds. I work very hard when I'm in the city, but when I get home I forget about the stress. Life is good. wink.gif

If money and earning a living were no problem....I'd love to live in Marblemount especially near the Diobsud Creek area. Prefer on the skagit. Oosoyoss is another favorite. Also like Ellensburg, Chesaw, Old Toroda, Molson. Stevenson on the Columbia....a waterfront cabin on Willapa Bay....Trout Lake with a Mount Adams view. A view acreage place next to the Dungeness Spit. An oceanfront place at the mouth of the Queets. A large acreage in Maple Falls....( move over JenJen....) A farm in Edison at the south end of Chuckanut drive. A riverside place on the Lewis river. ( no floodplain please) Anywhere in the Gorge. Ashford. Twisp and the Methow river area in general. Conconully. Etc. etc ad nauseum....it's a very lovely state with lots of places this boy loves.... agree.gif

In the boonies out near Metaline Falls- close to ski areas at Nelson, the Pend Oreille River and Priest Lake areas.

I live out in the sticks and have all those things. Ferries are a hassle but not as bad as Seattle traffic. At least I can read a book or enjoy the scenery.
I'm slowly becoming a better cook. Want Thai food? Make Thai food.

Good choice, I discovered that area last summer..more wildlife than humans. I would have to pick the leavenworth area..its central and close enough drive to many a gorgoeus place to hike..in all directions.

Moclips. Olympic pennisula goodness and cedar shake business opportunities.

Only one? Either Ruby or Realto beach would be a first choice and Greenwater a very close second.

Newport to Metalline Falls area. The fewer traffic lights the better.
