I found my old number from 1969 -70 when I was digging around last week. I remember getting $7 one time and wondering what it was for.

Ok, reading everyone's change back; I supposed fit in the '05-'06 REI excessive spending gearwhore catagory. $124 dividend.
Humm...
Maybe jumping further into the lightweight bandwagon with a new 2 day pack sub 3#. The Reality I've had for several years seems still the heavy part of the "lightweight overnight" equation.
Possibilities. Stick with the Gregory line and go with a GPack (in lowkey green) @ $150
http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?productId=47881121&storeId=8000
-or-
the REI UL 45 @ $100.
Seems that past thread from Aug 05 on the UL 45 give a Any other long term field field reports on this pack? (MtnWkr, CscdHkrDean, DayhikeMike etc. chime in).

When the fat envelope arrived I thought back to all that cash I'd left at REI this past year. Oh Boy!!.....but when I turned to the dividend page....big fat goose egg. That's what you get for being a bottom feeder i guess.

$10.93. I spent about $400 at REI last year, but $300 was on clearance items. It's enough to buy a couple of freeze-dried dinners for a three-day backpack. Now, where to go......

$135
The REI Visa card helps a lot. You get something back (about 1%) even on those sale, clearance and outlet items. And the gas you buy, and the groceries you buy, and plane tickets, hotels stays, etc. Eventually it does add up. It is also the only way you can use a credit card for full priced items and still get the full dividend.
Best of all, it has your member number on it, so it's easy to find.

Are you sure they didn't make it lighter as well?

I looked at the REI description and it doesn't say anything about being lighter, so???? 5 lbs 11 oz sounds a bit heavier than I remember the older version. I've been very happy with my HD2. It's weathered some nasty winds and snow, so for the price it's a good deal.

All of my $120 dividend will go towards a giftcard for my girlfriend, so she can replace the jacket I borrowed from her which I accidentally MELTED, in yet another stupid embarrassing moment.
