A fan would be great, but I always wake up with a cold when I use one.

It was 110 at around 1600 hr. yesterday, and hotter later. I wish I could have gone running and beat my old 105 record heat run from back in Ohio, but not yet. So a latte in a quiet cafe, none of the Starbucks commercial cattle farm coffee, while sitting in the AC was COOL. Look, I made a funny ! eyes.gif

I absolutely hate it. We have an older home without AC and it gets hot and stays hot for days. It was 86 in the house last night. I have sleep apnea and have to use one of those silly machines with a mask over my face, similar to an oxygen mask. The thing is miserable to wear in the heat. When it's hot in the summers like this my sleep average goes from about 6 hrs to 3 hrs a night. I don't like it. Ironically, I was watching a PBS special late last night hosted by Tom Brokaw in regard to the climatic changes and global warming. It's not a pretty picture and according to the scientists inerviewed many researchers on the subject are now starting to believe it is not just a natural cycle, but the result of our poisening the globe in one way or another. It was pretty depressing.

My short-term memory is not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my short-term memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Wear yourself out on the trail during the day and aim a fan at your bed. Keep it running all night long. I slept pretty well.

Whar I am in south Louisiana the air conditioning runs 24/7 from May through October, and does half duty the rest of the year. I need not mention the humidity. Last summer on my hike along the WA and OR coasts I came into Tokeland (WA) and stopped into this place to use the phone. It was 72 degrees outside, a really nice, early springlike day. Someone mentioned the temperature, and the other guy said in all seriousness that it was really "hot" out there. Couldn't f_ing believe it. shakehead.gif

I will never complain of the heat in your presence... Even tho it is presently 106 (outside), it's a dry heat wink.gif

Is that a record?

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

Good god. I was in wenatchee two weekends ago, it was hot - but not that hot. It's warm outside in Vancouver, but our evenings are cool. I'm fortunate that I have a northern-exposure home near the water, so it's actually so cool at night that I need my duvet. then again, I'm one of those cold sleepers. Whoever asked about bringing sheets for camping this weekend instead of a sleeping bag is not my kind of sleeper (and I'm envious). Ida brought my 20F down bag and slept in a flyless tent.

I don't know, but we live under rooster comb mountain at around 900' and there is a 5 degree difference from our house in Wenatchee to down near the river. When the sun is out fully it's hot, right now baking hot. You here about all the high temps and I just laugh, I think they get the official temp. from Bangborn Memorial Airport on the plateau on the East Wenatchee side, which is generally cooler than here, but it's hot everywhere right now. Definitely not time for an East slope scramble. winksmile.gif hmmm.gif
