Did anyone else suddenly find their netscape mail is now AOL and that anything and everything in your email was wiped out?

Yea, I hate AOL as well. Sent 'netscape' a flame mail last night. Today there was an apology and all my mail was restored. Go figure. So I am downloading the important stuff and switching.

Yes, my wife freaked out about it this morning. She used that account for most of her email stuff. (Not banking, thank goodness). I use Google GMAIL for my web based emails. Been trying to talk her in to that for a while due to the AOL/Netscape connection, hence pending BS. Well, I guess the time has come.

I freaked as well- I had some legal doc's on it. Let your wife know they did restore everything after I flamed them. So there may be hope. Either way I am switching as they have proven to be unreliable.

AOL sucks. I had it and then was so disappointed that I called to try to cancel. They kept trying to offer me promos to get me to stay with them. Free months service etc. I kept saying no thank you, please just cancel my service. "Well maam" came the response... "can I just tell you about AOL's..." NO, just cancel the service. "Can I ask why". NO JUST CANCEL THE SERVICE. "Can I ask why maam...AOL is" JUST CANCEL THE F&CKING SERVICE!!! OMG...it was worse than talking to the IRS! I finally got the account cancelled by threatening legal action!
Somebody DID take legal action against them: First, listen to this Then read this Blast you Caver! curse.gif

It wasn't as bad as those reports, but I had a terrible time cancelling my Discover card a while ago. I got to the point I was virtually shouting at the lady on the phone. In the end, I got the card closed like I wanted, and because of that experience I will never use Discover again.
