[the Zachster]

So what to do on a dreary day in Seattle? We just happened to be downtown and decided to visit the new sculpture park.

Zachster does the Olympic Sculpture Park

It was a short "hike" with meager elevation gain but the "trail" really was nice with lots of interesting things to see.

A very funky combination of of art, cityscape and the great outdoors (the water, and mountains when visible). One interesting feature is the nurse log that is kept in a specially built green house (the story and engineering alone are really interesting).

There was a docent there who was so eager to tell everyone about it.

Part of me felt bad that it was ripped from it's place in the mountains, but on the other hand it really is a great educational tool to interest young people in the woods. All in all it was enjoyable (and better than sitting on the couch waiting for the sun to come out...HA!)

Thanks for the pictures Zachster. I used to ride my bike past that place everyday on my way home from work last summer but I still haven't been there.
