What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

It was a bright and sunny afternoon, as I walked home from work. The unofficial temperature reading was 67 in the shade. That trail on the hill, the one that the X-Country team uses, was calling. I changed identities and leashed my old dog. We walked to the trail approach. At this point, I released her and she became Nanook, wild dog of the woods. We hiked up the old road to where the first loop takes off. Turning up this, we walked through big trees. I had to quell my inner timber beast. This is a problem for me on this trail. Hmmmm. It looked like it was almost time to do some recreational weedwhacking, but that could wait. Nanook and I pushed onward. we reached the top of the loop trail. Nanook charged up the hill, to where gutpiles are dumped. I went on and then had to turn back to yell at Nanook to get back down on the trail. Much to my relief, she had not rolled in anything disgusting. We started down. There was nothing out of the ordinary. We took the short leg of the trail and headed down to the Silverbrook Road. On the way, there was a large blowdown to duck under. I made a note of it, and figured out where I'd cut it on the next excursion. Nanook was releashed and became a domestic dog again.
Time spent, about 40 minutes..a nice workout.
Trail that the cross country team uses? What are you talking bout?
