What a great TR. I was pretty bummed to be still getting thrashed at work at 5pm, instead of pulling into the Bend.
Magellan, that's an hour and a half before my lunch break. I don't see ever being able to precipitate in the near future. rolleyes.gif

Looks like my friend Martin made the trek up with ya'll last night - his first TNAB! I guess he'll have to do another before he gets a nickname cool.gif
That mistake's on me. smackbum.gif I mistook Martin for the other new TNABer of the night (Stephan) but after a little photographic investigation I found they were two separate entities. That's what I get for trying to piece together the trip from the pub conversations. Sorry Martin, thanks for sharing your blog link on the website and welcome to TNAB!

Just looking at the report now. Excellent writing Kirbinator. You did not disappoint. Once again, I am grateful that others brought better camera gear than I did. Good company and perfect weather at the summit take the drudgery out of the workweek and the pain out of the quads. See you all next week. btw Barb, I did not think you actually took that picture. Next time, do I have to forgo the clean shirt in order to meet the dress code? Here are some of my Iphone pics:

It suddenly began to dawn on me that I had finally reached the top of Mailbox, and no further climbing was required.

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

A few more pics from a very enjoyable hike. First hike of the year where I've felt a warm sun. Very nice.

Wow, great pooch glamor shots! I'll be sure to brush the TLABs' teeth and wash their harnesses for next week's photo shoot.

trail update
Trail Update: Did a conditioner here yesterday (May 27) and the route is now totally snow free, except for a couple very brief patches just before the rock field.

Did anyone take note of the current parking situation at the trailhead? Thanks...

No parking issues. Same space as always on the left/north side of the road. There is a small ditch on the right/south side which is keeping people from parking on that side. So perhaps room for 12 cars on the left side.
