If the weather looks nice. I'm considering heading into the upper Chants for these days. I'd like to do Colchuck, Dragontail, Cannon, Enchantment, and McClellan if possible. If anyone is interested in teaming up for a trip let me know. I haven't done any of the peaks in the chants so I would consider others as well.
Justus
Edit, didn't do this because of the weather last wknd. I'm going to try one last time next week if the weather is good.

Not all that familier with the chants, but looking at my hiking book the lower chants themselves are 7'000 or more, upper 7'500. I guess snowshoes and cramps are called for. Not to mention the elevation gain, but in snowshoes, seriously. I thought I was A hardy soul, as told by many, but you must be superman in snowshoes. sounds like an epic challenge. Let me know if I"ve misunderstood something. I was planning on these this summer. Permits I believe are required.

We are heading in May 31, camping at Colchuck, and then doing Colchuck and Dragontail the next day.

Adahy, I hope it's not as bad as you make is sound. I guess I'll see how it goes. I'm hoping that since it is 3day wknd that most of the routes will be pounded in by the time I get up there.
Mag, cool maybe I'll see you up there then.

Trust me ADAHY, we are all hoping for some quick consolidation up there. I will be leaving my snowshoes at home. My thoughts are the same as Justus; head in on Monday and follow the well beaten paths.

I would be interested in meeting you up there and climbing Prusik (something on the S Face - Burgner/Stanley??) and Temple. I've climbed everything else up there.

Tom, You free these days? That route on Prusik looks cool but I have a feeling I'd only make it half way before I pumped out and then you'd have to drag me up. Maybe at the end of summer. That being said I might be willing take one of my days and do Prusik west ridge and the Temple. It looks pretty snowy up there so the routes might not be dry. I'll keep you posted of my plans.

I am heading up Thursday evening, hitting the trail Friday morning and going for Colchuck and Dragontail. No concrete plans on Saturday, but plan on tooling around in the upper Chants and bagging a peak or two. PM me if you want to meet up.
