I decided to take my first trip up to Mt Pugh yesterday. The hike up to the lake and a bit farther is pretty easy and lets you save some energy for the climb to the summit. It gets pretty steep before the pass, but there's a good trail to follow and it doesn't take too long. It was kind of funny seeing the Glacier Peak Wilderness sign nailed to a little tree at the pass. Heading up to the summit there were definitely some sketchy spots. A big gust of wind could easily do you in. I thought that I was just about there, until I went around the corner and saw the real summit. It is actually 1500' above the pass, which was more than what I had thought. I finally made it and was rewarded with unbelievable views in all directions. Unfortunately, I always forget my camera when the weather is good....
