I might be up for it. I was planning something else, but if no-one jumps on board with my idea, I wouldn't mind going back to Goat Lake. I'll know better by Friday.

You can drive in through Darrington, but I'm not sure about snow levels. The recent report on the Monte Cristo road makes me think you might get to the trail head.

It's a bit of a drive from either way to it.
I'm still watching the weather to see if I want to try a backpacking trip somewhere - maybe Ingalls Creek - just not sure yet.

I am going, according to the nf website there is snow on the lower trail but only spotty snow the last half mile on the upper trail.
I think I am going with a friend, but maybe we could all meet up for lunch at the lake. I will know more by friday.

Jet: Where/when were you thinking of meeting people? Also, are dogs welcome in your car or should any dog people figure out another carpool? I have a well behaved Sheltie. She can sit on my lap, but I'm not sure how others feel about dogs in cars or even about hiking with dogs. She just trots along behind me.

Maybe I'll come out and meet some new folks. What time are you looking at? Might bring a furry friend too if that's ok.

My kayak plans may not happen this weekend so a hike sounds good. Nice to meet some folks as well.
