Finished off 2011 with a quick early morning trip to Niagara Falls (Canadian side). Surprisingly, the temperature wasn't that cold and there was no snow, though quite a bit was forecast to fall in the next few days.
I'd hoped to catch sunrise over the falls, but overcast skies meant my 2:15am start from Pittsburgh was in vain. On the plus side, the sky was doing all kinds of freaky things. Despite having seen all and sundry show off photos of purple skies, I personally can't remember ever experiencing one. I saw some today.

Thanks guys. I have to say that as I'm paying for my early start to the day right now, as I await midnight, to welcome in 2012. Bad timing on my part.

Awesome, now think of the great pics you could get if you went over the falls in a barrel with a glass window, or a kayak.

While you stand at the edge and look down, safe behind the railing, you can't help but be amazed at the bravery/stupidity of all who've tried to do those stunts.
