Looking for people to go camping with. Interested in most places this side of the cascades but don't want to go alone. Are there other sites that help organize this sort of thing?

check out Meetup.com- it's free and has some good low-key local camping groups. The "Pacific Northwest Hiking and Backpacking Group" has been cool. I'd avoid the "ePeaks" group.

I want to go camping/backpacking. I am a recent transplant here from Spokane, and looking to get out and explore this side of the state as much as possible. PM me if you would like.

I miss my 4.8Lb base weight as a ground dweller...But I sure DON'T MISS the ground.

We usually have 3-4 get together camp outs via NW Hikers each year. It's slowed down some, but see some interest in organizing one on Trail Talk. I'm out all the time real camping. I don't think there are too many on here that camp out other than pay campgrounds. Camping in a pay CG isn't my idea of camping, so take your pick. There's 1000's of places to go without costing $$$, so PM me if you are interested in that type of camping.

You call some place paradise, kiss it goodbye......Eagles

Yea good point, I probably should have been more specific. I am talking non-campground type hiking. Ever since having a job where we worked out in the middle of no where and just set up on the side of a forest service or blm road I have found paid camp grounds to be just wrong. I plan on going around tiger mountain tomorrow.
