Apparently all you need is enough food to make it through trails that have been buried in snow

Must have been one heck of a slog. So, did he give up or press on??

From what I understand, he walked into Stehekin. Sounds like he pressed on and didn't give up. Good on him!
Having hiked that section this past August, I can well imagine having a very difficult time findng the trail if much snow dumped on the high country. It took him over two weeks to finish a section that under normal circumstances takes only a week. I would say Ian (I'm Fine) did well surviving.

I meant did he finish his hike? So near, yet so far - unless he found some skis and snowshoes.

Been wondering myself whether he pressed on or called it done.

I read on the FB page that he was planning getting a gps and two other hikers were going to meet him and finish the trail with him.

Get back on the horse and ride, I guess... At least he's updating equipment and going with someone else as well - being safer than the last leg.
