Your heading out into the back country with another person and need to bring food with you. I've found that there are two "camps" those who want a light pack and sacrifice flavor for weight and those who are willing to take more weight on to bring flavor with them. Which camp are you in? Have you found anything that's light and amazing/delicious that you would like to share? Or are you the one who carries the weight to eat well?

I like to be able to enjoy my food. But I wouldn't bring a spice rack with me. Either I bring food that already tastes ok or I bring a small baggie/packet with some spice. Nothing that would be noticable weight-wise in a pack. I'm not an overly picky eater so I can probably deal with some of the tastes more easily than others.

I've found that when things are going well, I have no problem eating food that doesn't taste quite as good. However, if I'm exhausted or things didn't happen as planned, I will have trouble forcing myself to eat the exact same food. Since something will probably go wrong, it's a lot safer for me to take good food that I know I will eat anytime.

Ditto on the "dehydrate your own food" flavor.
