I was given a project to use a Mac to schedule data backups. I haven’t worked with a Mac, and my test mule uses Mac OS 9.5 I need a routine to schedule and automatically execute one or more programs at scheduled times. I also need a program to perform a copy function of groups of files, folders, and sub-folders. In the PC world this is commonly called Xcopy or Ncopy routines but i don't know what it's called for Macs.... Any recommendations? TIA

see if one of these has the features you are looking for Retrospect seems to be one that folks talk about, whether good or bad. Oh, and just for accuracy, Mac OS 9.2.2 is as high as it goes before getting into some permutation of Mac OS X (now available up to 10.4.1)

That machine must have been around a while. Apple hasn't shipped a computer without OS X since 2001.
