Thanks for posting that! I remember years ago hearing other recording from space. Those were more a collection of cacophonous pops and hisses than the harmonies found here. This recording opens the door to the possibility of naturally occurring rhythms, meters and other musical structures. Perhaps in the not too distant future we may find that music really is a universal constant. Otoh, the sound is a lot like something out of the Twilight Zone, so maybe at least on one level, the universal constant is just out there. I dunno. But pretty cool. up.gif

For something closer to home, here's the sounds of the earthquake causing the Indonesia tsunami, as recorded by underwater microphones. I'm sure there are other mirror sites out there if this link doesn't work.

Always take the scenic route.
