I have a question for you waterfall enthusiasts.
There is a waterfall on the West side of Alta Mountain that is visible from much of the PCT North of the Kendall Catwalk. It is surprisingly large given (1) the lack of precipitation this year, (2) its proximity to the top of the mountain, and (3) the absence of visible snow above. Where's the water come from? Is it just residual snow melt? Or is it artesian?

The most obvious one in that area is the outlet of the Rampart Lakes - the falls produced are a good 400+ feet tall there. However, I'm not so sure you'd see that one from the PCT. The other drainages on the W face of Alta appear to be fairly minor, so I'd guess it's probably just fed by lingering snow.
