I saw this book at the King County Library today. Looks pretty interesting.

Considering I live a couple miles away, I think I will pick that up! Thanks

If you live a couple miles away, maybe you are living above the mines. They showed a map of one and compared it to an underground city, a labyrinth of tunnels paralleling the earth's surface a mile...very impressive!

I have been doing some studying on the history of the whole area-I like books written from old timers memories. It is neat to see via the photographs where the old hotels, stores, houses were. Most of the area out here is growing so fast, that history is being obscured.
The one on the Skagit River area was pretty neat also. Cannot rember the title, just that it was a very old book I found when I lived up North.
