We had a bear in the neighborhood yesterday. I came home yesterday to find a helicopter circling and a crowd at the QFC on Edmonds Way. I never found out what it was until this morning when I read that they had captured a bear cub at 224th and 90th! That is along my running route.
Fortunately, this has a better ending than the University bear. The cub has lived through the tranqualizing and they plan to transport him to the Cascades. You can see slides and video at Kiro. I recommend the video.

Awesome! Edmonds is such an exciting and wild place to live. It would have been more fun, though, had the bear shown up at the Saturday market.

Tabby cat terror for black bear
"If we didn't live venturously, plucking the wild goat by the beard, and trembling over precipices, we should never be depressed, I've no doubt; but already should be faded, fatalistic and aged." - Virginia Woolf
