Hey, I'm new to the board, and was wondering if a few of you could list, in your opinion, your top five favorite hikes. I'm 17, and a couple of friends and I would like to start doing at least a hike a week. We did Pilchuck and the little side route to Frozen Lake a couple days ago and really liked the scramble. If you have any suggestions please let me know!

My top five Olympics hikes in loose order: - Gray Wolf Ridge - Grand Ridge, Deer park to Obstruction Road - Queets River - loop trips involving Buckhorn wilderness: Tull canyon, Silver lakes, Mt. Townsend, Buckhorn mt. - Wonder mt. The wealth of hikes in the N Fork Skokomish area are nice, especially because of proximity to the Seattle area. Phil

You are looking for day hikes rather than backpack trips, it sounds like, so here are some great ones (these are classics-all stunningly beautiful- and certainly not secret, so if you can go on weekdays all the better): Green Mt. (near Glacier Peak) Spray Park (on the NW side of Mount Rainier) Spider Meadow Horseshoe Basin (Pasayten Wilderness) Cutthroat Pass (North Cascades)
