I need a good conditioner hike and am thinking about doing this one as an overnight trip. Any insights re. the best way to do the loop? Is it better to have 2 cars? Is a side trip over to Sourdough Lake doable / worth it? Up high, are there enough trees for a hammock, water refill opportunities, etc.? Anyone want to join? biggrin.gif

never done the loop, but I have a rediculous amount of experience on the trail that starts behind bubble covered pool in Diablo. wink.gif The trail does not go near the lake. It wouldn't be hard to get down to the lake, but it is about a mile or so down the ridge (away from the trail) and the lookout site. Plenty of trees around for your hammock. Wouldn't think water would be a problem.
