I ran across this article while searching for something else. I never knew the trestle was called the Wilburton Trestle. Built in 1904 as part of the Northern Pacific Railway, it is the longest wooden trestle in the Pacific Northwest per the article.

View from the cab of the Spirit of Washington dinner train crossing the trestle:

The Wilburton Hill Park, more or less under the trestle, is pretty interesting. It's on the site of the old Wilburton mill, the first major industry in what is now Bellevue, and has interpretive trails, ball fields, etc.
Some of the original company housing is still there, in a little historical neighborhood. Before the mill was built, the population of the whole Bellevue area was around 400, according to the 1900 US census. Ten years later, after the mill was built, it had increased to 1500. When Lake Washington lowered due to the ship canal to Lake Union being opened, the mill closed because it no longer had water access for lumber transportation.

I took my wife on the dinner train for our anniversary. I remember the woman on the microphone narrating as we passed over it. "The Trestle is tested twice a day, and so far, this test is looking pretty good"

From the Wikipedia article: "Wilburton Trestle should not be confused with Wilburton Tunnel, which is a tunnel for the southbound lanes of I-405 under the railroad. The tunnel is located about a quarter mile south of the trestle."
That is what's being torn down for the 405 widening and hence why rail service has stopped.
We used to live in Wilberton area and in fact would see that train and trestle from our front room. Very nice park and trails, connecting to the botanical garden and the kelsey creek farm.
