A frequent complaint on this site re: WTA's work parties is that they don't go into the backcountry enough, and that a week is too long for some. Below is a list of BCRT trips planned for this year. While some aren't deep back country, still they are farther than a day work party can expect to travel to the work site (work begins not much farther than 2 miles (max) on a day workparty). I'm in for Hucklberry Mountain! See the list here.

Thanks Quarkie. It is interesting they have chosen the Devils Pass route as a log out. Sounds like a cool trip. And yet the Freezeout Creek trail has about 300 logs on it....

Art is an adventure.

Thanks Q. I'm signing up for all of them. Well, probably not, but I want to.

Reminder! The website is now accepting volunteers for Backcountry Response teams. I signed up for the logging out of the Hucklberry trail July 4-7.

Our unofficial stealth group is starting to send out scouting parties to check on trails we can do soon. I'm trying to construct a saw carrying pack by merging parts from a frame pack with parts from one of those Gerry kid carriers. I had to wash the kid carrier parts because they smelled poopie. eek.gif

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities
