We somehow managed not to take our usual multitude of pictures, but perhaps that's because we were traveling light and fast in order to catch up to the main group. Darn you, Hood Canal bridge construction and traffic!!
One interesting surprise: as I was putting on my boots in a hurry at the TH, I noticed a lump which turned out to be a frog. I think I scared Alti-Dude more by my startled outburst than the frog scared me.
Trying to catch up....again! Entering the ALW TNABers on Kendall The last of the sun for this day Golden sky to the east Glow over Keechelus BarbE, Dude, Yet, rdyhiker, and Magnum engage in some friendly banter 1 label TNAB invades the Pour House! Zonking out in the backseat during the trip home

Yet, you actually stopped to take pictures? and good ones too!
I tried the "Alti-Dude run-up-deadly rocks while filming method".
Didn't work so well for me with the camera tumbling into the rocks.
Time for a new one anyway
Thanks for not posting "The Picture"

I'm reasonably fast on level ground and going downhill, it's only the uphill that would pose a problem...but the promise of cheesy tots might be just the motivation I need!

Merci, Yet! But what does AW mean?
magnum and runningbird, thanks for a great hike and a great trail report.
Yet, your report made me laugh out loud at several points, esp. that whole sequence that included Scott's 'terror'!

Sorry for the late posting - out of town for the last several days.
Excellent sprint up to Kendall Peak, pausing here and there for quick snapshots of the color down low where the slopes opened up enough for the wildflowers to bloom.
Sunset from the summit was startling. Not so much from the color which was amazing. But from how quickly the view was altered minute by minute. Rays beaming across the sky and a few seconds later they were gone. Clouds jockeying for position and of course, a sea of flying mosquitoes and deer flies.
Not quite ripe! Pure yellow Columbine color combo Sweet colors Water still flowing in August TNAB group summit shot Beginning of spectacular sunset More color Layers of light Chair Peak, Sun and Snoqualmie Mtn Sun slipping away from Snoqualmie Mtn Ominous sunset clouds at Kendall Peak Sun fading away Goodnight, Sun
