This is for the Dahlia addicts out there. In the Snohomish Valley across from Craven Farm there are acres and acres of Dahlias in full bloom.

Here's a couple of experimental shots I took in macro mode at 12x 6-1/2' away. I had no idea that this was possible, as I've always held my camera away from my object between 1/2'' to 12''s when in macro mode.

PIB, this shot of Mt Shuksan is absolutely stunning! I'm trying to imagine where this tarn is, I know it's not Picture Lake.

Luckily I happened to have TOPO! open on my puter. If it isn't Mazama Lake then I'd have to say it's the tarn just north of Table Mtn. The ridge in the middle foreground left helps give it away.

Oh cool, I found you on the map.... agree.gif Just south of the Lake Ann trail and SE from the end of SR 542. TOPO! even shows a tarn there, at about 4,750'. You're closer to the peak than I thought.

Yep. A friend had other commitments and had to bail at the last moment, so I thought I'd head down there solo and hit up: Labohns, Chain Lakes, Williams, Tanks and Foehn over 2 days. I'm just a wee bit tired, as the relentless itching of bug bites and another thunderstorm prevented sleep. Thanks again to you and Dayhike Mike for the info..

Thanks. Ditto to you and catching the skyline beauty. The color was lingering beyond 930 last night.

I have never seen such an array of colors in a sunset than we saw on Friday and Saturday nights. The sky was constantly changing colors in all directions. PIB and I ran around taking pictures until after midnight. The horizon glowed bright red for 1.5 hours after sunset and then the full moon rose! I think I've taken more photos in 2 days than I've taken on week long trips! embarassedlaugh.gif
