just a note about the grocery list on the page cited above: Trader Joe's "Traditional Marinara Sauce" in an 18-oz. glass bottle sells for $1.29 every day, and contains no sugar.

And yeah, TJs does have good deals but doing all your shopping there can be pricey.

Yeah...I shop well there until I hit the gourmet stuff and my brain/stomach is thinking "Oh the savings!" It might be cheaper than most stores but still pricey lol.gif I have to focus on "only the basics, only the basics!"

Trader Joes - I get pasta sauces, gnocchi, canned beans there. But especially the canned artichoke hearts and jars of roasted bell peppers. Quinoa too. MUCH cheaper there than anywhere else. $1.99 vs $4.99 for the bell peppers, for example. agree.gif

I think the trick with TJs is knowing what's good. The stuff I like there has come from tips from friends. They also have a killer recipe for chile. Hey, maybe we should start of list of "what's good at TJ's". I'll kick it off: Their chocolate truffels (I'm not positive that's what they're called, but they're chocolate chunks measuring a little less than 1" x 1" x 2") that come in a quart size plastic tub are dynamite. I think they have the best sesame sticks around (even though lots of stores care these, TJs always taste fresher to me). I also really like their wasabi peas, though they may be an acquired taste.

I like the dark chocolate covered orange sticks (gum drop like centers) and their wine. and jarred pasta sauces. Hubby likes the little tiny peanut butter cups. One thing we tried recently and did not like was the turkey bouillonaise. eck.gif (from the freezer section) It had a really strange texture.

The maple syrup that comes in the tall bottles. I use it all the time, even in homemade marshmallows. up.gif
