Hey All: I'd like to tackle Hidden Lake Peak near Newhalem on either Saturday, May 19th or Sunday, May 20th; it would be great to have some company. My schedule is wide open either day. The intended route will be the summer trail and the north ridge via Sibley Creek Pass. The descent will follow the same line. My plan is to leave Kirkland at 5:00 a.m., picking up anybody along the way who would like a ride. A rendezvous at the trailhead is also an option. The weather forecast can be found here. If anybody is interested in tagging this summit, please let me know and we'll talk. up.gif Recommended gear: ice axe and crampons

Pain is just weakness leaving the body.

Be certain conditions are bomber avy safe, that's a big, wide open slope up to the pass. Might be best to postpone this one.

What he said. Not sure why you would do that when the west ridge is more direct and much safer. ETA: I wish I could go this weekend...

Postponed due to high avalanche danger. Rescheduled for next weekend (the 19th or 20th). Original post updated.
