The road is currently closed at the Ross Dam trailhead. There was a decision (last year?) to move the closure down to Colonial Creek, but it hasn't happened yet. The road conditions page says it'll happen when there's more snow. I'm thinking about skiing from there this weekend, hoping there's enough snow, wondering if anybody has any beta?

It's closed at Colonial Creek, despite what the NPS alert says. https://www.nps.gov/noca/planyourvisit/road-conditions.htm There's plenty of snow at the campground, you can ski from your car as far up the highway as you like. Slow going though. Light and fluffy except in recent snomo tracks. Not a lot of glide anywhere.
