Friends of Three Fingers Lookout Facebook- the admin of the group posted that they successfully made the lookout, closed up the lookout for the winter and found that someone had pooped outside the lookout on the backside and covered their poop with rocks.
Beware of the poop if you’re planning on going up there.

At least they didn't leave it on the side of the trail in a blue bag as a stinky little cairn.
There's human poop in the rocks by the Pilchuck lookout too.

Anyone with the fitness and skill necessary to get to that location must be aware that leaving a pile of sh## there is 100% wrong. But they did it anyway.

There used to be a note inside the lookout saying to poop on a flat rock and throw it out the East window, back in the day.

I remember someone telling me that the first time I was up there back in the early 2000's. Was there this past summer in the wet fog. That place stunk like the streets of seattle. I can only imagine what it would smell like on a hot sunny afternoon in august.

Yep. On their Facebook page, they noted that one of the members of Friends of Three Finger Lookout, went up and cleaned up the poop along with packing out wet sleeping bags, trash and another items from Saddle Lake. Also, a nice Big Agnes emergency tent was stolen from the lookout.

The worst thing of this nature i have ever seen was on the Olympic Coast. I came across a long turd w/TP about 50 feet from the privy. It was right in the middle of the trail back to the privy, no cat hole or even a rock or anything covering it. It was either someone absolutely clueless or a deliberate bit of backcountry vandalism. I lean towards deliberate vandalism. Privy was perfectly fine, so no excuse.
My time as a volunteer backcountry ranger in ONP was eye opening for the worst behavior, much of it deep in the backcountry which ruled out newbies. Also on my PCT hike I saw some really gross things in regards to poop. My take on the matter is that many people are just lazy and realize they will never be "found out" so they do the deed and walk away. Like littering, it encourages others to do the same.

I've seen it many times and of course, the TP comes along for the ride as well. It's disgusting.
