Perused some of the answers and comments on this thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/Ultralight/comments/1869all/new_pack_fabric_aluula_graflyte_any_fabric/
Anyone interested in this kind of "tech"? I have over the years trimmed pack weight due to some chronic back pain issues, but am not in the position to buy expensive-fabric-gear - don't even own anything DCF. But I do like to read about these fabrics and such, especially since I do a bit of my own MYOG (haven't dipped into garments yet) and may one day want to use them for a pack or tarp or something.
Edit: seeing now in the comments that there is also a new X-Pac UX10 that is similar, though perhaps glued and not fused: https://www.x-pac.com/product/ux10/.

Looks cool but I'm not sure I'm sold on frameless packs. This is a whopping 30oz lighter than my Zulu 30 which I use for overnight trips and probably much less comfortable when loaded. I'm happy with my Xmid Pro, down sleeping bag, etc. But I'm not sure compromising on a pack is a good idea. At least for me.

I wouldn't necessarily characterize the new Durston pack utilizing ALUULA Graflyte as "expensive."
It's at a middle-of-the-road price point. Slightly more expensive than, say, most of the Osprey or Black Diamond line, a bit less expensive than most of the Gregory packs, and significantly less expensive than most of the Z-Packs and HMG packs.

+1 skeptical on UL backpacks for regular use. The penalty for "going too light with a pack" could be severe. I have a ULA Catalyst (42oz.) and happy with the reserve strength it offers (for a water carry to a dry camp for example). There are other places to cut weight.

No, you're right. My comment was more about the DCF gear - pretty expensive and I don't have any items made of it.
