Does the surveillance satellite that pickups fire hot spots work in a wavelength that also captures the current eruption on Iceland? I assume magma is much hotter.

I didn't realize that eruption was between the airport (Keflavik) and Reykjavik. There are some cheap fares to there from Sea-Tac right now if anyone's interested.
It is south and east of KEF so not between the airport and Reykjavik which is NE. But it's still pretty close. Approach Flights from Europe go right over it.
