Had a great day out hiking up Scramble Point! Left Monument Creek TH around 9:30 and arrived back at the car around 4pm. We found the trail heading West about 5 minutes or so past the first lookout over Lost River. We noticed an X made with sticks marking a side trail and took it. After stepping over one small downed tree we found a very well defined trail most of the way (we could tell it was there even with the snow up high), except for the last few hundred feet that involved open walking with few obstacles. It was still early season and though the snow seems to have melted lower down, slopes above ~5000 feet still held snow making postholing unavoidable.Gotta love the struggle! It was very cloudy and a bit windy on the summit and there wasn’t much for views, but still a great time out exploring a new area close to home.
