Excellent report! The entire Hog and Fishtrap lake areas are really enjoyable areas, and so easy to reach off of I-90. I liked Hog Lake the best of all of them...there is something special about the desert climate but having dots of ponderosa pine trees here and there like that area supports due to the increased precip it gets vs. just 15 miles to the west. Because of this, the bird wildlife is spectacular here! Thanks for reporting the update of the area. The road in gets gated shut later in spring to keep out vehicles when fire dangers start to increase.
