Ate at Scale Burgers and their burger wasn't the least bit impressive. huh.gif Ate at Graph's Drive-in in Packwood two different occasions recently and the Papa burger is humongous and tasty- I couldn't finish it in one sitting it was so damn big. up.gif Last time I got the Mama and it was juuuust right. They also feature huge ice cream cones. But they apparently have never heard of the "combo" order out here in the other world- a combo to them is a "basket" of burger and fries. A request for a combo gets a puzzled look. dizzy.gif

You can't go wrong at the Brick or Village Pizza. However, last time I tried to go to Village Pizza around noon on a Sunday it was frickin' closed!

I was thinking of a full-fledged wiki, so we could create some structure and have restaurants in different areas on separate pages, but also pages with other FAQs. An example is the Cycling wiki here. The software he uses (MediaWiki) is a common choice. (Should we continue this in the Support forum?)
This seems like a good idea. There is alot of good information that could be cataloged (and probably also alot of bad information, so maybe two wiki's are needed). up.gif up.gif

after this weekend, i can say now with confidence, avoid the HIGHLANDER in Ashford. coming back from an overnighter near lk. christine, about 1 pm. empty dining room, 1 other table. from order to delivered to table? 1 hour. (blt and burger.. one hour..) number of waitress visits/questions after dropping off drink order? zero. post food delivery? 5 number of hairs found in BLT? 1. number of reasonable efforts at apology for poor service? zero... let ya guess what the tip was..

kenya believe it?? "Time is so everything doesn't happen at once. Space is so everything doesn't happen to you."

Dicey introduced me to North Bend Bar & Grill yesterday. Excellent burgers there. High quality meat. Don't be stumped by the NBBG Burger. I couldn't figure out why they'd name a burger after one of the biggest architect firms in the world - any architectural firm, for that matter. But after several long moments, I realized NBBG stands for North Bend Bar & Grill. The firm is NBBJ; . What a maroon. prod.gif . Funny thing is, dicey thought the same thing when she first saw the menu, too.

Same answer as before..cold beer and a fresh cantaloupe! drink.gif

There's a mostly unspoken acknowledgment among the voluntarily impoverished that it's better to be fiscally poor yet rich in experience-living the dream-than to be traditionally wealthy but live separate from one's passions.

Lucy's, on Aplets Way a block north of the Aplet & Cotlet Factory and Gift Shop. Lucy's is a hole-in-the-wall mexican cafe, and no one speaks English there. Typical of these wonderful authenic places, you just walk in, check out the hand-written choices on the board, still have no idea what you want, and end up pointing to the Speciale, answer the question, "what meat?" then sit back and wait for manna to arrive. My tostada held out until the second-to-last bite, when there was major slope failure on the pile of beef, avocado, lettuce, tomato and cilantro. It fell all over the place. It was great. Open til 9 PM (Sunday hours are posted twice, conflicting information). Damn, it's good food! And what a great little town! I've never been beyond Rusty's Drive-In. what a mistake that has been. A 10 year long mistake!

When I'm out near Granite Falls I totaly enjoy the food at the Bodacious BBQ. Two times a month (on Sundays) they have smoked prime rib. Their pork ribs are the kind that melt in your mouth and the prime rib is unlike any you've had before. Check it out if you don't believe me. Be warned tho, you'll be hooked forever.
