Seems pretty quick to me. Is it just slow for you when posting?

Now I am at my home computer and it still seems slow. When posting and when getting on. When I go to www.nwhikers.net and then click on the enter thing, that is really slow also.

What browser are you using? Netscape 4 will be really slow, particularly on dialup, because it does not support gzip compression.

I use NS 4.72 alot and haven't noticed anything that much different. Sometimes when it's really slow I figure someone is making a post, which it generally seems to be.
I tried the T-1 line at work today w/ IE 5.5 and it was slow then. At home it goes about as fast as NS.
Must have some sludge in the lines somewhere. Probably Verizons problem.

Sorry, I have been gone for a few days. I use internet explore 6 and sometimes it just seems really slow. Maby NN is right that it is when someone is posting a message.

Forum seems to be slowing to a crawl at times. Is it just me?

Yep, I'm noticing things are definitely a little more sluggish than normal lately.
Thought I noticed something yesterday, but attributed it to local congestion due to excess browsing at lunchtime, but it's continued into today.

What I have noticed a couple times in the last two days is if I go to submit a post it will take FOREVER for it to do that-and I have broadband service, with a very fast computer so it isn't me! Glad to know others are having the same thing too (then I know it isn't cause I am slow mentally )

Same here, but more than a couple of times. I think things have slowed down from what it was say, 6 mo ago.
But hey, so have I

This 'slowing down' is definitely not a subjective impression! I have noticed it over the past several days, and it applies not only to posting.

OK, I think I figured out the problem with the long delay after posting. The search tables were getting huge, causing it to take a long time to cross reference and update the search tables with every new post (the longer the post, the more noticable it was). I've put something in to fix this - it seems much faster. Hopefully this fixes the other issues.

I, too, have noticed long delays where nothing happens at all, yet my connection is fast on other sites. It has improved since a couple of days ago, but there are still significant delays happening even now. This is not a complaint, just info meant to help troubleshooting. The delays are mostly non-posting related, just changing forums, etc.
