Well it was time to get out and test the foot. Things went well although the weather deteriated as the day wore on. It was very good to get out after being on the bench for the longest stint of my adult life. Update on conditions: Consistent snow at 5000' and 3+ feet still lingering in the basin below the Iron Saddle. Large cornices on the East side of the ridge but there is plenty of room to give them space. Very windy on the summit but I did spend some time looking through the summit register. VERY VERY good to get out again.
