So is the one above it, of Mailbox. If you click either thumbnail it will open the trip report it's from. I'm not claiming these are my pictures, we're talking about snow conditions. A lot of us are thinking about when and where we're going to ski next. Relax, dude.

Deep breaths ... deep breaths .. okay I'm calm... whew! Thanks for that!

Ordinarily I'd think that posting without anything to indicate otherwise seems to give that impression.
Cyclopath wrote: | If you click either thumbnail it will open the trip report it's from. |
Honestly, this one is the real laugher. As you know, and anyone who earlier clicked on the thumbnails for either one knows, you originally didn't have it that way. You changed it before your reply. (BTW: In your haste to do so, you linked the second one to the wrong trip report.) Why not acknowledge that instead of pretending you always had it that way?

I'm not a skier, but I look forward to seeing the lines that skiers use on Mailbox. Sounds cool.
We seem to be oil and water sometimes (I wanna be water if you don't mind), so I will admit to having a little fun with my reply. But the question posed was I think legit. Your original two posts didn't give any indication that those weren't your own pics. There are many easy ways to indicate they aren't, arguably including the method you added after the fact. Given how protective you seem to be of your (actual) own pics, it seemed a little strange to me. Bad form at least?
But on the bigger ... ahem ... picture, I understand that this the internet, and I remain calm about such things.

Who cares? Seriously, who cares?
This isn't a photography thread, this is a thread about (recent) snow. If you really want to know, just ask. While you are at it, ask about the camera and the settings.

A detailed discussion of El Nino's effects on the other Washington. Interesting, I always thought that the winter of 80/81 was an el nino year as it was my first winter living in the Methow Valley and it rained and rained that winter-- which was good because I was living in a flimsy travel trailer.
I also see that 1965 was a big snow year in Wenatchee and I think that is the year that we kids built some pretty good snowcaves in the yard.
This is a good read for us eastsiders.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

This cold spell is going to end soon, the nightly lows are going to shoot up by 15 to 20 degrees here in town. How much snow will remain?

No mountain snow in immediate future (last week's "storm" was a total bust at Stevens, 4"). Re precip in general, here is an almost interesting bit from today's NWS discussion:
.CLIMATE...With a dry forecast today the yearly rainfall total
for Seattle will end the month of october at 20.71 inches. This is
the 8th driest since records started at Seattle-Tacoma airport in
1945 and the 2nd driest in the last 35 years. With no rain this
month in San Francisco the Seattle yearly rainfall has pulled
ahead of San Francisco just barely ( 20.71 inches versus 20.20
inches ). Seattle yearly rainfall still behind the yearly rainfall
for Los Angeles this year ( 20.71 inches versus 21.66 inches ).
Seattle will pass Los Angeles in the next few days. There has only
been one year, 1998, since records started at Seattle-Tacoma
airport in 1945 that the yearly rain total in Los Angeles has been
ahead of the Seattle total at the end of October. Felton

Paradise yesterday, it was warm but the snow wasn't consolidated enough to support skis from rocks.

Looks like the fun is over, rain, rain, and more rain here in Wa and Rain and snow in Idaho. Might hit Pilchuck on Friday (the only day that looks dry) if indeed the road is open. Good thing I have the indoor hobby of playing poker. Most of the casinos are shut down their poker rooms but the Buzz Inn steak houses have a great low stakes tournament every night of the week.
