I will say this: I feel that one of the best backpacking books was written by Harriet Barker back in 1977. This book is highly overlooked and is one of the best books in my vast library of trail cookbooks I have in my office. There was a LOT taken from her works by other authors over the years and she was vastly ignored, even by BP magazine. http://www.amazon.com/Supermarket-Backpacker-Harriet-Barker/dp/0809273071/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1267049613&sr=1-1 The Supermarket Backpacker

And worth every penny I might add! biggrin.gif I love Amazon for the ability to find all these hidden gems that went out of print years and decades ago. There are some really good ones!

I gave Sar a really old one a few years back... Gorp Glop and Glue Stew? Something like that. It was awful! embarassedlaugh.gif
