Due to the utterly premature shuttering of the Kissinger thread, I found myself with nothing to do today. So, unfairly forced to hike, I decided to try Green via neek's route. The crusty, postholey snow made it fairly lousy traveling, so I'd recommend waiting for another couple feet to fall.

Well done. Gotta work for it but the views up there are nice. That boulder field towards the end sounds like it would be kinda miserable without a bigger snowpack.

That route was popularized by a hiker of much greater ability (and no doubt pioneered long ago by those unknown and unknowable), but I appreciate the credit and am impressed that you were able to make it work in these conditions.

Did the ammo box have a wire running to it? It looks like a rattle can? Not that I'd know what that'd be doing there.

No, it's a Geocache. Contains some numbered hiker's coins and a log. Earliest entry IIRC is from 2009, latest one was Sept. 2 this year.
