Forget about griz reintroduction in North Cascades, beware of bears in Japan.

Cougar attacks too. And orcas. It's like the world is trying to tell us something.

Truthfully, I was not even aware that there were bears in Japan. To discover that not only were there bears in Japan but that their population was increasing was a delight.
Not to dismiss the seriousness of the attacks and even fatalities, but we humans need to find a way to live with wildlife rather than crowd it out and extirpate species.

Asian bears are supposedly more aggressive than our black bears, least that is what the sign at Woodland a park said.

Let me ask you something this may seem like a silly question. You get a French bear a Japanese bear a German bear do they all growl the same? They all sound the same when they, you know, "grrr"? Or is it a different language? And it doesn't matter the country, the boundaries doesn't make any difference there?

French and German bears are considered brown bears but smaller than Griz ans Alaskan brownies Asian bears are a separate species.

Many believe that grizzlies have recently been introduced to Japan after several grizzlies somehow ended up on a cargo ship undetected. The crew was not aware of the grizzlies until there were way out at sea!! Then the crew had to just barricade themselves in the captain's room with grizzlies clawing at the doors out there in the middle of the ocean.

funny thing, crows in Florida go "wac wac" while the locals around here go "caw caw". Distinctly different calls. Cracked me up the first time I heard a squad of FLA crows swarmed and all squawking at the same time.
Could just be a dialect?
