The boyfriend and me were looking at hiking pole stuff last night-I need new snowshoeing baskets for my REI poles-when we noticed a pole cleaning kit put on the market by Lekihttp://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?storeId=8000&catalogId=400000&productId=10858784&parent_category_rn=11770838
When I looked at the kit the first words out of my mouth were: "that is a bore kit!!" Ie.. the kit they are selling is the SAME thing you use to clean a rifle! Sold for twice the price of a rifle cleaning kit! I was truly shocked, and then when I thought about it-that is great marketing, and a great use of a tool that has been around for years!

Here is a link to what the cheaper version is.
I have cleaning kits sitting around, I had never thought of using them in that way.......
great discovery for those that dont have a gun..
sarbar, your first link is invalid... have to take the "Leki" from in front of the http and should work (for those that might not notice)
thanks for the heads up

Thanks! sorry about that-I have noticed before if I post a REI link, it usually doesn't work
A neat way to clean poles after hiking in bad mud or sand though!
yes it is..
when you post a link.. just make sure it starts with HTTP..and you should be allright.. sometimes the html comes out different when you copy and paste it from a page..weird..but who ever knows..lol
