Some buddies and I called an emergency camping trip for this weekend to Chumstick mtn, and I wanted to pass it on for anyone looking for something to do. The emergency? The need to go camping and take a break from carrying a pack! As of 11:30AM Friday it's already sunny over there and I'm preparing to head out in an hour or so.
We'll be camped on the summit, 360 degree views and a great site. Most of us are staying until Sunday. May also do some mars viewing, as even though we're past the closest approach technically, it's still plenty big. So if you haven't been in this neck of the woods, are interested in a fun car camp at a great ridgeline site with incredible views, or whatever, putt on over. We don't bite. Some fall colors should be starting, and the ridgeline at 5400-5800 is a great place for rambling. If you haven't seen the views of the Enchantment, icicle ridge, etc from Entiat ridge, you need to.
