I wonder how long it takes a bear to cover 40'--not long judging from the article in this morning's PI. The guy said he didn't even have time to jump. Probably not enough time to unholster bear spray or a weapon.
I think that we all would be surprised at what we are capable of while facing possible/certain death.

It's been an amazing couple years in the news--an old man fighting off Cougars with pocket knives, a guy amputating his own arm, and now a guy fighting off a Grizzley and patching himself up with duct tape...
Duct tape AND a glue gun rule! Forget women. That's all a man needs.
Yesterday one of my kids toys broke. While I was fixing it with super glue, I told my wife I should market a "Dad Box" containing an assortment of tapes, glues, wire, cord, batteries, etc. etc. We might put one together as a gag gift next time one of our friends has a baby...
P.S. I don't know how useful a glue gun would be for first aid. Is the glue hot enough to cauterize and adheze at the same time?
