The booklet "Airplane Crash Sites" has a list from 1940-1983, with coordinates of each one. It also lists some references. Last I heard you could get this booklet at a pilot shop at Boeing Field.

Search & Rescue B-17 Crash Site in the Olympics
This is a pretty good site for a site in ONP: http://www.peak.org/~mikey/746.htm DDG

Why are people always trying to stop themselves from doing what they really want to do?

I am cuious as to whether George Lewis' (late Trail Blazer) name is in there, as he personally found about 4 aircraft himself that had not been found until he passed by. He later led authorities back to the sites.

strider I've never been lost, but I'm frequently uncertain where my destination might be in relation to where I am at the moment....

More Sites
I know of a crash site in a pond that drains (King county's) Gold Lake and a helicopter crash site close to Big Heart lake. I know of the helicopter site second hand.

I saw the wreckage of the helicopter crash near Big Heart (actually near the shore of Chetwoot) many years ago. I think the FS took it out because it was gone when I went back a few years later.

crash site
Nobody has mentioned the crash on NE side of Treen Peak. Or the one on way to Boner Lake (from Money Creek side). Neither is easy to find, although the Boner Lake one is easier than the Treen Peak one. We just plain stumbled into the crash site on way to a lake in the area. This was back in the days when one could get to end of Taylor River road. We started for NE side of Treen Peak. About 2/3 of the way up, we stumbled onto this airplane. Could see where it had chewed tree tops while trying to turn around. Didn't make it. We didn't make it to lake, either. One guy started getting leg cramps--fortunately for me. I was headed for that enjoyment, too, if he hadn't beat me to the aching.

Found dead airplanes near Mt Margaret 15 years ago (probably the same one Mike Collins saw), Grindstone Mt this year. Friends have found them many times, such as Goode, Gunn/Merchant area (a Seattle City councilman died there in '65), and of course famous ones like Tubal Cain. Also a helicopter crash on Whitehorse. The one on Goode was spat out from a glacier, and my buddy found a woman's shoe in the debris. Kinda strange.

It's pretty safe to say that if we take all of man kinds accumulated knowledge, we still don't know everything. So, I hope you understand why I don't believe you know everything. But then again, maybe you do.

There are helicopter parts near Perfect Pass where an illegal sightseeing flight dumped. I do not believe there were any severe injuries and the NPS took away most of it.
