I have only been to Goldmyer once. I certainly enjoyed the ambience and the hot springs and I do want to go back. Just looking at Burntboot Creek was unnerving. So easy to slip into that maelstrom for the unwary. paranoid.gif ~z

You're right Sewellel, it is upstream, my apologies. well, upstream on the Middle Fork anyhow. Everyone is saying upstream of Goldmyer but that'd be Burnboot Creek. I had to dig through my pre-digital archives... turns out I was at those pipe springs in 2000. So there was no Dingford Creek gate closure... we must of taken a break from soaking at Goldmyer and wandered up the Middle Fork... In my earlier comment I was thinking the closure was already in effect and that we walked to Goldmyer via Dingford hence placing those springs downstream--nope. Mostly end up biking that stretch these days. Anyhow here's what it looked like back then -
