Leavenworth area had some serious flash floods that were predicted Sunday & Monday. Can't think it's a great idea to rock climb in that forecast. Still sad, RIP climber.

Yikes.
Rain on rock is very scary, as the water flowing down the rock frequently dislodges pebbles and small stones, the larger ones make a horrific whirring sounds as they whip by.
Very sad news.
I was in a foursome (two rope teams of two) climbing the R+D route on that buttress years ago. My friend Lori and I topped-out just as it was starting to rain. Our other two friends were somewhere below us on the 2nd rope. We figured that since it was raining they would turn back. When we got back down to the road we looked-up and they were up on a ledge and waving frantically to us. They had continued climbing up and one of them had slipped out of the 5.6 crack and landed on a little ledge->broken ankle-> rescue->hospital. And he only fell about 10'
To fall 100' is unimaginable. That is truly sad and horrible. RIP.
Rock can be very slippery when it gets wet. Lichens+water=slippery.
Be careful out there friends!
