My OG Reactor isn't burning nearly as hot as when it was new. The branded insert only turns a dull orange. I've read a few things about a nut that needs tightening but also that there could be dust/dirt in the foam that sits under the mesh.
I could take it to the MSR repair shop (is it still in Sodo?) but I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue and was able to solve it themselves at home. Is the foam (i think it's foam?) inside the burner removable and could I possibly just rinse it out?
MSR is owned by Cascade designs. Their website has a fairly easy return set up. Fill out a little form and they send you a number to include with the product that you were returning. I donít believe that they take returns in person. Gotta mail it in.
FYI - the foam insert is NOT foam. It's a firm mystery material that can easily crumble if pressed. It's like solidified foam. It reminds me of that (old school?) flower arrangement firm foam stuff that you poke stems into and turns to dust if you smash it.
So, I'll just send in my stove. Also the mesh screen isn't removable because it's crimped into the rim of the stove.
