Figured on taking the dog up to Taylor River to swim around, but after our thunderstorms this past Saturday (Nov 4th), there was way too much water coming out of the mountains! Great hike nonetheless -- first time up to Marten Lake.

The Marten Lake trail could use some love (lots of up+over logs along with a swamp crossing right before the lake), but with the abundant flagging tape, it was definitely doable (albeit slow).

According to peakvisor.com this is what you're looking at. Looks to me like the west peak.

Congrats on a beautiful fall day and a lovely trip! There are several destinations up the MF that either are variations of or actual names of people in my family. I’ve always meant to put together a “family tree” tour and Marten Lake is on the list. Thanks for sharing. 😁

Nice pics. Been in there a few times. I took my mom there once.
